Character Profiles

Character 1 - Vicky Moore

Vicky Moore has had a lot of experience as an actress, playing roles as an extra so she is a suitable role for my short film. The short film is based on a family outing and Vicky plays the role of the mother and she will be a main role in the short film. As Vicky is an experienced actress, I also chose her to perform the voice over of the poem used in the short film.

Character 2 - Simon Moore

Simon plays the role of the father in my short film. He doesn't appear as much as the other characters but makes a fair appearance in the film. 

Character 4 - Alice Moore

Alice is the youngest member of the cast and so was the hardest to direct out of the cast, however this wasn't a problem as the footage is meant to look "home made" and having Alice act herself in the short film made it look more genuine.

Character 5 - Eleanor Ethridge

Eleanor is the second youngest member in the cast but was easier to direct. Eleanor plays the role of a sibling and also makes a large appearance in the short film as a main character. As a GCSE drama student, Ellie has experience as an actress and knows how to act around cameras.

Character 6 - Natasha Ethridge 

Natasha plays the eldest of the siblings present in the short film, she appears quite frequently in the footage and is one of the main characters. Natasha has experience as a media studies student so she has an idea of where she needed to be to compliment the camera shots and angles used in the film.

Character 7 - Sue Moore

Sue is a minor character in the short film as she does not appear that often in the footage. She does not have experience acting , however the skill was not needed because she was not present in many of the scenes. Sue plays the role of the grandmother.

Character 8 - Neil moore

Neil is also a main character in the short film, so he did not need any acting experience either, however, he has a great interest in the cinematography and aesthetic of films so he was able to place himself in the shot where the blankets are being put out in order to make the shot look less vacant and evenly spaced out. Neil played the role of the grandfather.

Character 9 - Elizabeth Knockles 

Elizabeth made a main appearance at the picnic scene, and she is classed as a main character. She was not an experienced actor however she fit into the role well and had no problem acting on camera. Elizabeth plays the role of the great grandmother.

Animals 

Animals are notoriously hard to work with in film and media and so are not often used, however I wanted to promote the idea that pets are included in the family as well. I had 2 dogs to work with, both well trained with a calm temperament and it worked well in my favour.
