Rough Cut Footage - Option 1
Evaluation of Rough Cut
The rough cut taken is a very basic outline of what the short film would be like. The shots and camera angles match most of what I would like in the short film, the high angles especially, however it would improve the rough cut if there was a more variety of angles.
The settings change drastically throughout the rough cut so there will have to be a solid setting in the final cut. The scene where the character falls would be better filmed in a large field in order to add the realisation to the audience that the character is very isolated and there is nobody to help.
The short film is meant to be set in the evening time so there will have to be some artificial light source in order to allow the audience to still be able to see the shots, or the time of day would have to be changed to just before sunset so there is still enough daylight.
The actors in the rough cut are inconsistent, however, the costume still stays the same (apart from the tshirt on the first actress) which shows that the two actors are meant to be playing the same character.
The character expression and movement between the two actresses both show a lot of terror and frantic energy especially when they are running however the expressions and movement was portrayed better by the second actress.
The only props shown are the book and the pen which needs more focus and close ups on to show the significance of them.
